I posted this yesterday under another heading with no replies, so please forgive this duplication. I'm looking for a theatre where I can perform my one woman show "Embraceable Hue". It's a play textured with music, song and dance based on my journey after being burned in an arson fire. You might say that it's more on the non traditional side. There are 13 songs and a tap dance number. Basically, there is no set & props are sparse to none. On stage is a pianist/piano, and there is no intermission.(90 minutes) I have submitted to about 6 theatres so far, with kindly rejections because of the nature of the script.I would appreciate ANY feedback or suggestions. If desired, you can view clips from my show at www.johannamarshall.org. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my inquiry.........
Bring it to Cebu Philippines. I'll run lots of commercials. Cebu had the fastest growing middle class in the world for 5 years. It's starved for culture.
Mr Ratering, my mom is from Cebu, Toledo to be exact, we have a house in Bohol
Well I'll be. I was going to buy a house in Toledo for $1,500. I was with a girl from Bohol for 6 years. I have my sukmmer house in Negros Tanjay. I write here and it's my base when I do films in Oman and India, Small World!!! I will leave for Hollywood again in Aug.
If I were doing a film perhaps, but not for my show unfortunately. It was difficult enough trying to find a compatible pianist who understood the concept as well as finding rehearsal time. Just finding a theatre alone took months.... I appreciate your feedback, but N.Y. is also where I come from,(Bronx) and I would love to get my show mounted over there if possible...............
Hi, you should try the Snapple Theater or the Jerry Orbach Theater.
I'll check it out pronto!!!! Thanx much Kristen.......
You're welcome! I hope you have luck. I am trying to think of the theater that I went to see a one woman show. Have you heard of New York Women in Film and Television? I'll let you know when I find out the name of that theater.
No I haven't, but please keep me updated....I've already put a call into the Snapple Theatre Center and am awaiting an RSVP.........I appreciate your fortitude...........
No problem. I suggested NYWIFT because it is great for networking and all kinds of events. I'm a former intern there. I found the theater. I saw the one woman show, Flozetta during the Illuminating Artist Series at TADA Theater. That is on 15 west 28th street. See if they still have that series and if you can join. It's a start. But check out NYWIFT. Flozetta was performed and directed by NYWIFT members. There are a lot of great opportunities to meet all kinds of entertainment professionals through them. Good luck!
Bronco I liked the movie version better where the the Broncos end up in last place and the Browns win the suoerbowl.
