Hi! I am a screenwriter with 2 options and 2 sales under my belt. Feature sale didn't get made, but the short script is in post production. I have production experience - PA, UPM, Location Scouting, 2nd AD, Associate Producer, Script Supervisor, Wardrobe, Craft Services - you get the picture - I have worn a lot of hats. I feel that every writer should experience the production phase at some point, even it it's not your own work. The best way to do that is to volunteer on a local indie set (they can always use an extra set of free hands). I also read a lot of scripts and provide feedback, resulting in happy writers and directors. I am considering starting my own script consulting biz ... just mulling for the moment. I look forward to meeting many more members of this talented group. It's been a pleasure being here. I titled this post Fruition - that is my word for the week - as I am expecting the enjoyment of my desired outcome - to see the fruits of my labor. Chera I am a writer because I love the written word - I am a screenwriter because I love the written word brought to life.
Hi Chera! I'd love to hear more about what subjects you tackle as a writer and also - why screen as opposed to stage? I'm a lover of both :-)

Chera, you're the jack of all trades!
Chera, I have to say that you're absolutely right about everything you just said. I love your positive energy. Keep up the good work. By the way, where are you located? I'm asking because we just launched a brand new and unique magazine. For each new monthly issue, we will need writer to write new stories and producers to produce. It's a new medium I've created and one I believe will revolutionize our industry. Take a peek at what I'm talking about here: www.laramagazineonline.com click on the cover of the magazine to preview. We are located in Los Angeles. Let me know if it's something you'd be interested in. Thanks!
Hi Mara. My prefered genre is Romantic Comedy/Dramedy, but I do write drama and faith-based subject matter as well. Why screen? I just love the medium ... the thrill of being transposed into a visual story, unfolding before you. There is just something about the film medium that nudges me from within, and it all starts with story. But I am a fan of stage, but have yet to venture that structure. Maybe some day I will, you never know.
Christian – Thank you for your kind words and encouragement. I just checked out Lara Magazine...and the news video with the actors - very impressive, what a fascinating medium. I am located in the Cincinnati/Indianapolis area, but am willing to discuss possibilities. I will send you a PM with my contact information. Thank you for reaching out. Here’s to your success!!!
Thanks, Chera. Sorry, I read the other message before this one, that's why I asked you the question you just answered. We will definitely discuss the possibilities of the future soon.

Very cool - I'm a fan of dramedy! Of course tragedy and comedy go hand in hand - you truly can't have one without the other! Will look forward to updates on your projects!
