Feature film project helps to support a local Kenyan community, orphanage and school

Hello Stage 32, You may have seen our posting about a feature film project in Kenya. Our little production team has traveled to Rusinga Island, in Kenya, twice since June 2012, to form a 'film secretariat' - a team of local Kenyans who support our project, who have given us their blessings on the script and who have been indispensable in the logistical planning of the work we will be doing to make this feature film in Kenya. With their assistance we have been able to audition local citizens, lock all of our locations which include remote islands (with abandoned resorts), entire fishing villages, school houses, peoples' homes, guest houses and local businesses, as well as secure ground transportation, accommodation and even emergency evacuation (if needed) for the cast and crew involved in the project. To check out our mood reel which includes many of the locations, please view it here: http://vimeo.com/48106986 We have created a website for the project where you can learn more about the film, the team involved, the place and most importantly the people in Kenya who are supporting the project and who we hope the film project will help support financially for several years to come. www.nightrunnersmovie.com My business partner, Rowan Nielsen and I, have been working with a couple of Executive Producers in Canada to raise awareness and funding for the film. Together we have managed to cobble together just over $10K for the much needed scouts and another $40K of the $78K that we need in order to finally film this feature in January. The remaining $38K required we hope to raise via a crowdfunding campaign, which can be found at http://www.indiegogo.com/nightrunners-kenya-thriller We are looking for contributions of anywhere from $3 - $5000. Most of the donation amounts offer 'perks' or gifts as Thank You's for any contribution made. A couple of the fun perks are Kenyan made and support small businesses and artisans who have been helped by our Kenyan Executive Producer, Mama Benta via her micro-finance program which has assisted many women to start their own enterprises. This is one of the many endeavors the Nightrunners film will help support. We would be eternally grateful if you would take a look at our Indiegogo campaign, (here's the link again: http://www.indiegogo.com/nightrunners-kenya-thriller) donate if you can or even pass this message along or post the link on Facebook or twitter or LinkedIn if you are so inclined. You can even donate anonymously. Every little bit helps. If 10,000 people donate $3 each, we'll make our goal :) In order to reach those 10,000 people, we need your help. A friend who is a Public Relations specialist is launching a national media campaign for us via the Canadian Press this week to help get the word out, so get in early, as those perks are limited! Thank you, thank you, thank you. Thank you also for reading Nightrunners 'pitch'. It's been great practice for when we go to the festivals to try to get international distribution!
