If you're a screenwriter then you'd know creating the story from start to end, knowing what your A-Story and B-Story will be and knowing how to pitch it. Save the Cat has been one of the greatest books I've ever read on the topic of screenwriting, heck the words 'The Last Book on Screenwriting You’ll Ever Need' just sells it because it will be the last book on screenwriting you'll ever need. The iPhone app and Software Program is amazing for anyone trying to figure out how to actually make your story/ movie watchable and understandable for ALL audiences, "Primal" as the great and late Blake Snyder says. For any up and coming screenwriters, actors, directors and producers, Read It and his others, https://www.blakesnyder.com/zencart/. Sorry don't mean to promote anything here just wanna help out my fellow filmmakers. If you've read it then tell me what you think and how it's helped you.
STC is great for structure, however it does little for you creatively. A great story will always provide great structure, great structure doesn't make a great story. Screenwriting 'gimics' are everywhere. They all basically say the same thing. Tread lightly. I suggest Story (McKee) and Hero of a 1000 faces... more story/character based.
I've read Story however like STC; I know I have to read it again so its drilled. I'm still yet to read Hero of 1000 faces....
