Text cut off in photo...... is that okay?

I didn't know where else to post this. My mom and I are on opposite sides about a situation. We took a Christmas that has "Let It Snow" with a snowman in the background. She wants to have it cropped so that the photo would be closer. I think it would be ugly to just cut off the words only showing "Le Sno" showing. As a paying customer I wouldn't HALF of something to be in my child's Christmas photo. I tried googling examples but no luck there. What do you think?

I'm with you on that one... try cropping in, but cutting some of the bottom of the frame? Even if some of the subject is cut off, sometimes a frame with a lot of "head room" can be interesting as long as there's a point to it (or it might just look weird either way... worth a shot?)

thanks. We tried a couple of things and it worked out :)
