Hero of a 1,000 faces. Poetics of Aristotle. Story (Robert McKee). Pretty much all the 'screenwriting' books are nothing more than infomercial gimics. Everyone's on the Save the Cat kick, but to be honest-- all it teaches is structure.. absolutely nothing about story. Structure cannot provide a compelling story, a compelling story will always provide wonderful structure.
