The name's Paul Cascante. I'm an American who grew up internationally. My father was not in the military but rather an international executive businessman which explains my living in various places from Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica and finally in Panama where I was raised before going to New York City. From New York I moved to Los Angeles and presently am living in Shanghai, China where I've been going on 10 years. My mother tongues are English and Spanish. My parents were bilingual so I grew up speaking both languages from the time I was born. Since being in Shanghai, I'm able to speak, what I call, survival Chinese (mandarin). I was (and still am) a fine arts artist before I evolved into acting. I started acting in my late 20s and I credit my ex-wife for that. She gave me the acting bug. I've been acting professionally (SAG/AFTRA) since 1988 and acting in China as well with recurring roles in various TV series here. I also have written short and full length plays as well as screenplays and produced, wrote, directed and acted in 3 short films as well as acting in other short films. Also, I was the first person to form an acting workshop in Shanghai which ran for 4 years. Presently I'm only coaching acting privately. If I'm not being creative in some form or another, I would probably end up in an insane asylum. Being creative is my lifesaver, it's what keeps me going and staying sane. Many people tell me I'm living an exciting life with all of my experience. However, if you ask me, I will disagree and tell you I'm living a normal life no different than other people. That's about it in an nutshell. If you want to know more, please feel free to contact me. Thanks for taking the time to read about me. May all of you have a great and successful life. Creativity is the heart and soul of life.
