Do/Can actors use tear sticks to help them cry? is it unprofessional? will they be looked upon differently if they need help by using this method? if it takes too many scenes would a tear stick be necessary because doing it physically would be quite draining? Your Thoughts...

I do not think it is unprofessional to use tear sticks. Why would it be? Some people just cannot cry, it does not mean they are not affected or unmoved. I think it is the result that is important and, if you have to use tear stick to fake the tears, then do. In fact, crying is not even always the best way to express pain or sadness. I think every actor should know if he or she can cry on cue and if not, they should always have another solution under the arm to prevent loosing too much time.

My pleasure :x
We all just borrow tears from Claire Danes. She has enough to go around.
When asked how he was able to break down every night on stage as Hamlet, Olivier said something like, "My dear boy, I merely turned my back and shrugged my shoulders!" That's a very loose paraphrase of a famous line from an incredible stage and screen actor. Whatever works!
