Looking for movie locations? Film makers, if you are looking for locations in an area that has open arms and a welcome map, check out the Capital District in NYS. In the past year I have had shooting just in Schenectady, Ryan Gosling, Bradley Cooper, Ray Liota, Eva Mendes, Ben Mendleson, Frank Langella, Christopher Plummner, and Benjamin Walker. In the past we have had Thora Birch and Keith Carradine. We have had the American Pickers Mike and Frank here recently (See the STURGIS episode), A&E Biography, Discovery Channel, and more. We make it easy to film here and we have 25% tax credits for production and another 30% for post production here in upstate. The Capital District is the oldest settled region in the Northeast and has 400 years of backdrop, natural and man made.
