Italian Composer Ennio Morricone: I'll Never Work With Tarantino Again

Not what I expected to be reading right now.

Curious. I am sure Tarantino will survive. His script did win an Oscar recently. Certain many people will want to write scores for him.

i think his reason is justifible " time " but meeting deadline is also important . may be this why they happen to dis agree . .

Tarantino films are profane in so many levels and Maricone got to understand with time. I do agree with Maricone.

I need to read the rest of the article but on the surface - I just can't agree with the statement "places music in his films without coherence." - seems to me that Tarantino's use of music is very exact. It sets or amplifies the mood, plays counterpoint to the scene, etc. This statement seems to suggest that Tarantino just tossed in whatever catches his fancy without any real thought as to how it affects the film - I find this not at all plausible.

Too many paesanos, not always simpatico. Sometimes mixing it up with personal styles works, and sometimes it doesn't. I don't think it was meant as a dis so much as a recount of personal experience. As much as I LUV the Blues Brothers, I don't think I would have worked well with John Belushi. He had NO regard for women in comedy, and whatever respect I have for his work, to work WITH him would have been impossible. Sometimes that's what I think has stifled my project. It's that kind of business; personal vs business, art vs business, talent vs business, luck vs business. If anything, to me, it seems Marricone may be using his Tarantino story as a #hashtag for media attention, it certainly worked on us.

First may I start with the fact that both of these men are brilliant, But... Morricone has to get out of his box. If what he says of Tarantino is true I find it odd after so many years that he never came across this before. Honestly, I dont know if the man is losing patience in his old age but we must remember never to submit to any one set of rules or thinking there are only certain ways of doing things. At the end of the day this is art and art has no rules. If it actually has to do with deadlines well I dnt know what to say. It all just baffles me. Sounds like half the story of what happened. Lol. People are funny.
