Hi Guys, I have not been here that long, but I have meet some really great people. My passion is Christian Film and bringing everyone together to help raise the bar for making Christian Films. I have put together a website like a Christian IMDB, it's called CFDb: Christian Film Database. http://www.christianfilmdatabase.com/ We are a online list of all Christian Films as well as having profile pages for anyone wanting to work in Christian Film. These pages are free and I invite anyone here to make a page for themselves. You can add all your info from your IMDb page, or if you don't have one, just make a page with all of your info. We will be having casting directors and others looking over these pages when finding crew for their films. http://www.christianfilmdatabase.com/cfdb-profiles/ If you know of a Christian Film that is not listed on CFDb, please let us know by filling in the info here and we will get it added. http://www.christianfilmdatabase.com/add-update-film-page/ If you are looking for a film from the past, we can help you find it, it's fun to help look for films from years ago. Ah, so even if I happened to enter my profile name as "P. Sumares", the system would still know to link me to this person: http://www.christianfilmdatabase.com/composer/paul-sumares/ ?
When you add a profile it is similar to an IMDb profile - It would be like this - ex - http://www.christianfilmdatabase.com/profile/jenn-gotzon/ - Then when you type in your name - it would be like Jenn's only it would link to your profile page and any film you've worked on that is in the database. http://www.christianfilmdatabase.com/?s=jenn+gotzon - hope that makes sense. If you just type in p sumares it may not come up for people.
Okay, I get it. Often, web applications will link everything by one user ID in the database, but in this case, you don't link directly from a profile (which would have the user ID) to a list of films that involve that person (by ID) ... it is more by text search. Thanks for your help!
Sean - We do not do casting but the profile pages are available to casting directors who are looking. Paul - if you are listed in the cast on certain films and you type in your name into the search the films you've worked on will show up, and if you have a profile page, that will show up as well.

Okay, I will try it out. I set up a profile, but I think it still needs to be approved. So my films and profile should show up after that. Thanks for setting up the site. It's a great asset.

Thanks, Roger. The profile page looks good, but for some reason, when I click on the link, "search the CFDb database", for films I am mentioned in, the film I composed music for, "Foreclosed", does not come up in the results. When I search for the Foreclosed film and scroll down, I see my name listed as Composer. I made sure to create my profile with the name exactly as mentioned in the film credits. This is what my initial question was about ... how to make sure these were linked. Any ideas?
our webmaster is looking into this one - it should be automatic

What is a Christian film??
Is it a movie that is unoffensive for christians to watch, doesn't contain any unChristian acts - no breaking of ten commandments, for example? Or a movie where all the characters are christians? Or a retelling of a biblical fable?? Not sure on the definition

Dave - lots of disagreement on what a Christian film is. For us - it's a film that shows a need for God within the film somewhere. So either it is to encourage or strengthen the faith of someone already a Christian or to show others that don't know God Who He really is.
