Greetings and salutations! I am a writer and just started acting in film. Nothing really notable as of yet. I've written 8 screenplays. My 7th script "Vlad, the Inhaler!" was a winner last year in the Moondance International Film Fest. My script, "The Last Straw, Man!" is a finalist this year at Moondance. My scripts tend to be character studies and comedies with satire. I have collaborated with a friend of mine on a time travel story that is more of a metaphysical thriller and i have ideas for other action/thrillers, but have not yet worked out plot lines yet. Looking forward to meeting other aspiring writers, director, producers, and actors! Best wishes! ~Mark

Congrats on the Moondance placing, Mark. Elizabeth, who runs the fest, is a member here on 32.

Thanks, Richard. I'm going to attend the Moondance this September in Mystic, CT. Should be a lot of fun. Giancarlo Esposito will be there from Breaking Bad. Thanks for having this great website! You've done a terrific job for all of us!

Thanks, Debbie. Acting is a different animal from writing, but I am enjoying it.
Welcome to stage 32 Mark! Great to have you here!
Thanks, Pat. Nice to be in a great community of artists!

Hey Congrats, Mark! I used to be really involved in the Moondance Film Festival! I was their original emcee in the early years in Boulder Colorado, taught, spoke and mentored there for about seven years - even encouraged Elizabeth to go for it back in the day when she was debating turning her screenwriting contest into a film festival! How cool! GREAT for you! CONGRATS! Continued good luck on all your writing!

Thanks, Heather! It was quite a thrill to win at the Moondance last year. While this year my latest script is only a finalist, it still makes me feel good to get the recognition. Thanks for your compliments!

It's a huge big deal - even making the finals. I made the finals one year - Linda Seger was the judge - and the truth is - she said I was "2nd" - but past the finals? It's totally subjective based on taste. Nothing you can do about that. Look at "We're the Millers" - there are some people who will think it's not funny - and most think it is. Some will think it's brilliant - others just won't care for the humor or subject matter or topics or characters. It is what it is. You just write what YOU love ;-) as BEST you can - and making the finals is evidence of that. So GREAT for you! ;-)

Just read your premise for "Breaking News" and really enjoyed it. I am a big fan of the films "Dog Day Afternoon," "Network," "Broadcast News" and even "The King of Comedy" that puts media under the spotlight. I tend to use scenes in my scripts of reporters and news teams asking ridiculous questions on serious subjects. If you have an interest or time in checking out either "Vlad, the Inhaler" 2012 Moondance winner or "The Last Straw, Man!" 2013 Moondance finalist, let me know and I'll send you the loglines and/or synopsis or the PDF(s) of the script(s). Thanks again, Heather!
