Introduce Yourself : Just an introduction, not a pitch by Hilary Marckx

Hi there, folks! I am a songwriter who performs my songs. I say it this way so I will not be confused with the genre, singer/songwriter. I write for plays, musicals, other singers, and whomever else is interested To say that I'm a composer would be to make claims way above my station.. I have placed in various films. I began as a poet but that led down the steep and slippery bank straight into the swamp of singer and performer. Later, much later I began, out of desperation and poverty to engineer and produce my own songs, and I have figured out a few tricks that get me through. I would not do any of this if it was not fun! Thanks for being out there and slogging along with me through the creative perils of the industry!
