Hello fellow 32ers, I've just completed my first comedy, titled Mama Mafia, the logline is available to read on my profile page. I like to twist a genre stereotype to give it an extra kick. So my Mafia story, hence the title, has a strong female lead instead of a traditional male lead that people would expect in a Mafia story. And I've now started a horror script about demonic possession, but again, with a twist to what's normally expected for the horror genre. This script will be available during the latter part of October this year. I'm also available for hire to write new scripts, to do rewrites and polishes, and to work in a TV writers' room. I'm able to write in all the main genres, action/adventure, comedy, drama, horror, sci-fi, and thriller. If you'd like to hire or rep me please send me a private message with details and we can discuss terms. Wishing everyone a fantastic week. Best wishes, David
Question - If you have just completed your first script, why would someone hire you to do "rewrites and polishes and to work in a TV writers room"?
Thanks for the question, Marvin. Simple answer, I'm a damn good writer. I've used InkTip.com to put my script out for sale so if a "producer" on this site wants to look they'll have to be a "real producer" and accredited on InkTip. Then when they read my script they'll know in the first page that I know how to pace a story and in the first 10 pages how I deal with character, conflict, etc. Oh, and I'm also a very fast writer, I can complete a movie script from scratch in two weeks. And with that speed comes accuracy and precision. These are necessary for working in a writing room where speed and accuracy are critical. And for rewrites and polishes, I provide script analysis for people in my network and have read enough to see the commons stakes and story structure issues writers can make. Oh, and in terms of writing I've been writing for over 20 years. Have a fantastic weekend and week ahead. Best wishes, David
commons stakes should be common mistakes. Blasted predictive text!
