Rated SR- Socially Relevant Film Festival New York (City and Upstate) is premiering in March 13-21, 2014. Screenings and a Filmmakers' lab will take place respectively in New York City at the Quad Cinema, and Upstate New York at the Carey Institute/ Carey Center for Global Good. The grand prize is an all encompassing one week's release of the winning film at the Quad Cinema in the Village. Rated SR - Socially Relevant Film Festival New York aims to satisfy a market need to concentrate more on everyday positive human stories while offering a financially viable alternative to the proliferation of violence & crime in today’s movie industry. The downstate-upstate event provides filmmakers & festival attendees with the best of both worlds: the buzz of Manhattan & the rural setting of Rensselaerville, NY. Its main goal is to support filmmakers who tackle socially relevant content. Festival Founding Artistic Director, Actress/filmmaker Nora Armani and Founder Director of the Filmmakers Lab, Filmmaker Mike Camoin are happy to announce that early bird submissions are now open.
