Dear Stage 32 Friends: My company, Zohar Films, has recently launched a Kickstarter campaign (http://kck.st/1bI5mbY) to produce our latest horror movie “Violets Are Red” and give SEVEN unknown talented actors their first big break in Hollywood. As you know, traditional film funding sources INSIST on casting already proven, bankable stars. Therefore, we must turn to the public if we want to give unknown faces a chance at making it in Hollywood. Everyone - whether they support the project or not - may submit their headshot/resume in early Spring (info@zoharfilms.com). However, Kickstarter backers will be able to attend a private audition BEFORE we open it up to the public. The movie is about a popular sorority girl held hostage by a mysterious woman who gives her 88 minutes to figure out her identity, or die. Essentially, a girl on girl "Misery" shot in the style of "The Shining." The two female leads are ages 18-30 and 30-50. The one female supporting role is 18-35. The four male supporting roles are 18-65. Auditions will be held in NYC and via Skype in early Spring. We may also host a second private audition in LA. Anything you can do to support this movie and spread the word to your contacts would be AMAZING! Our goal is show Hollywood that we CAN come together as a community to make a fantastic film and showcase truly undiscovered talent.
