My name is Christian Bendana and I am in a predicament. I live in Fayetteville, North Carolina, am relatively fresh out of film school, looking for my first job (any job at all, you know, to pay bills), and at the same time wanting to do what I love by joining the filmmaking field. I want to direct, since that is what I have been honing my skills in school for, and get into the TV business, but I live in a city that is far from Hollywood...or at least Wilmington. It's hard for me to make connections. I am hoping Stage 32 can make that a little easier. Hoping to meet some cool people!

You might consider coming to Austin - there's a ton going on with independent films here, and lots of opportunities. Plus, a lot cheaper than California (so far). Good luck!
Thanks! I'll take Austin into consideration!

Hey Christian, While you're in the town you're in, it wouldn't hurt to try and find like-minded people to do some small projects with.. doing a short film in Fayetteville is the same as in LA, it's just there's more people with more experience in LA. But you can start cutting your teeth on your own proejcts anywhere now -- that's the beauty of iphones and youtube etc! You can shoot a fun short film and get it out there. Every bit of experience you gain will help you!

I hailed from Virginia Beach originally, so I hear ya! If you don't want to go too far, there's usually a lot of film/TV activity going on in Atlanta. Now that I'm all the way over here in LA I still find that I'm connecting with people on a regular basis over in Georgia, lol. Give it a shot!
We do live in a time where it's a lot easier to be a filmmaker, after all. Thanks, Daniel!

Cool you can relate, Alex! I've been hearing a lot about the film business booming in Atlanta so I'm definitely also considering it as well.
