3D CGI Artist

Hi everyone. I am new to this site. I am in telecommunication, 3D Modeler, Web Master, Electronic Tech, Computer effects, and video Editor. Just to name a few things I do. Spent so much time in school looking for a field I like but there all so much fun that I just can't pick just one. I have been on a movie set and held many positions one was green screen expert as no one on the movie set had experience using this before and I had. Then later title changed to Lead Master Editor. Don't ask they made the title up. The Key star of the movie was a dog and had to go to the aftermath of hurricane Katrina hence needing green screen half of the movie. Now just looking for the next opening. The 3D car of my Headshot is just one of my 3D models.

I am so envying people who can model car concepts. I have one but don't know where to look to start doing a car. I can do sets and architectural projects but when it comes to smooth curves I am at a loss. I am in 3Dmax where would you suggest I look online first to learn the starts for a car concept? Thanks Vic

At the moment I don't have my system that hold thousands of tutorials and locations. I also have my tutorial disks I learned from in storage do to my models.

However in order to smooth any models edges out is rather simple the lines gradually soften the edge as they move away from the main line. So you will have more polygons the closer to the edge you get. The lines say on the side of a car. You see less of them on a door then you see on the edge of the door curving in the body of the car. The more lines the better. There are tricks to smooth but cant use in some games. This is the best explanation I can give you with out showing you. I will see if I can locate the places just from memory.

Thank you so much Richard for your explanations Would love to look at your list of tutorials when you get tot hat CD again. Best of luck and hey its great when they invent your title that is a proof you are on top of things. We have a 3000sq studio and gallery in Vancouver if you ever need a green screen there are several big ones in town.
