Finally finished my full feature screenplay and getting ready to shoot. I am supper excited! Still in search of cast members (men). How do I go about finding people who will do my first movie for credits and not pay, because of my budget?

Any suggestions for actors?

D Marcus

Acting schools. Acting classes. Casting web sites. Local theaters.

Marvin Willson

It's likely there will be a direct correlation between your budget and the quality of your actors. Raise as much money as you can and good luck.

Don Walker

I use LA CASTING.COM now. My first feature, I used BACKSTAGE WEST. Just know, you get what you pay (or don't pay for). My first feature, my actors agreed to work for free because I told them ahead of time what my budget was. Also, I assured them that the money they didn't get would go to getting better crew, set dressings and food. Just be honest and you'll find talented people willing to help you. BUT, you won't bet getting many, f any, consecutive days shooting with free actors because of their day jobs.

I am Art Director Costume & Set Designer and Actor (3 movies) one finalist at TIFF 2013 Tell me more about your movie. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1918668/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 and www.almostaturkishsoapopera.com Talk to me and tell me more such as location duration story. Bet of luck. Vic

congrats, and wish you well.I as do many writers and artists to know what it feels like when you finally finish a script, novel or artwork. But then there is that nagging question... "what is my next project.?'

Evan Marlowe

I have to disagree with the above. I shot two features using excellent actors in exchange for credit and footage. If you live in a city like LA all you have to do is throw a rock to find one.

Tressa Sanders

my personal favorite is breakdownexpress.com but there is also mandy.com

Lol @Evan. Thanks Evan and T!

Christen Norman

Congratulations, Chandra! You might try The Southern Casting Call, 800Casting, or Actors Access. I like Mandy.com, too. Best wishes for your project.

Tim Newhouse

You get what you pay for. What is the budget used for if not for the people doing most of the work to bring your story to life? Actors willing to work for credits, about a million in LA. How many of them are good... Very very very very very few. Get a great production coordinator and they can make your budget work. As crazy as it sounds even B-List actors may be willing to work for 100 a day.

Kimite Cancino

He has a good point, Tim Newhouse. I agree. Good luck with filming and hope it meets ur budget and expectations, and turns into more projects :)

Art may I ask what sites/URL do you recommend to learn about marketing a "Pilot"?

Marvin Willson

Marketing a pilot? Explain please?

Victor Stapelberg

Hi in reply to your question. What are the best strategies and things one must do to market a TV Show Pilot? Where to go, what organization to approach and who is the ideal person to speak to within the entities you may advise.
