Hello again, Stage 32! I've been on here for awhile. I am an LA-based independent film producer and also the Founder of No Budget Film School, a series of classes specifically designed around micro-budget filmmaking. I've been in "the business" a long time--longer than I like to admit sometimes--starting out in production and moving up through that track into production managing and line producing. I was then an executive at a company called Next Wave Films, which was a subsidiary of the Independent Film Channel and gave finishing funds to exceptional low budget features. We were involved in the first features of filmmakers like Chris Nolan, Joe Carnahan, Amir Bar-Lev and many others. After Next Wave shuttered in 2002, I became an independent producer and I founded No Budget Film School in 2005. The films I've made so far as a producer have all been appropriately micro-budget. My newest film--"The House That Jack Built"--is currently playing festivals and will be at the Phoenix Film Festival in a couple of weeks and at Nashville later in April. My prior film, "Pig," was recently released by Kino Lorber. My next No Budget Film School class is May 3-4 in Los Angeles. I've written about no-budget filmmaking extensively on this site and on my own website, but I'm branching out of my wheel house for my next project, which I'm developing now. It's a commercial horror/thriller that I hope to do with some real money. (I know--heresy!) http://bit.ly/aPZfEm

you need to bring this school to nyc....we could use one here.
Hey Denise, I was there last October. Great group of attendees and had some great guest speakers, including Alex Karpovsky and Eliza HIttman ("It Felt Like Love"). I hope to be back this year, but not sure of my producing schedule yet.
Hey Mark, Have you thought of offering some courses online for those of us not in the LA area?

Yes, I have. When I have time I will put something together. I've been busy with projects in between classes. Thank you for asking!
