Hey everyone, been a member for quite a while but always good to say hi to the new guys. I'm a part time author just finished publishing my trilogy which has gained significant interest from creative execs thanks to stage32 and the happywriters. I'm very interested in speaking with producers who want to make a 'Looper' type movie in terms of content and budget, and also screenwriters who have good experience adapting novels! Let's network!
Hi, Gareth! Congrats on publishing your trilogy! The first of my trilogy is out, and I'm working on the second. I just adapted it to screenplay and now doing the editing. I'm finding it's not so cut and dry. What started out as a 200-page first draft, is now down to 150 pages. So much must be shaved down and a lot is ending up in the cut pile. It's been an interesting process. It was hard to let go of the scenes that were dear to me, but finding it easier as I go along. I have to remember the SP is "based" on the novel. Not an exact replica. Makes it easier. Good luck. Feel free to send me a msg if you want a sounding board.
