Revisiting The Basics

I just completed two screenplays but that suffer in technicality. Suffer from the base directions: SUGGESTED CAMERA ANGLES ARE ABSENT (I thought the director's job was to interpret it and I must shut my mouth and don;t tell him what I want him to do). ACTIONS ON THE PAGE are a bit loose and in-definitive. SLUG LINES are placed everywhere breaking the flow and are redundent and chaotic in places. Really very disturbing. TRANSITIONS are almost completely absent, and when present don't unite a scene or scenes and dialogue with the overall of the masterpiece. I just can't wrap my head around it. I did study screenwriting and have read screenies but nothing appears to answer my dilemma. What I need from someone willing is just for a little guidance mentoring or tutorship for me to reach around these said problems to help me perfect my own works for the benefit of my own.

If you're writing a spec you don't need camera angles etc. That stuff gets added in a shooting script. Additionally, It seems like you have a good idea of what's wrong, so why don't you rewrite it? I suggest reading a few scripts you like, which you can download at a website like simplyscripts.com and mimic what the other writers do for your slug lines and narrative. Be happy to look at your work if you want additional feedback. Also check out the Hollywood Standard screenwriter's book. It's great to review formatting questions.

I tried those routes I just can't get it to stick. My script is just so different and though I seem to know where it fails (that's all knowledge and other screenies have taught me) I can't process it confidently. All my prose suffers from this.
