Want to Write a Quotable Movie?

Try coming up with lines 140 characters or less. Something that can be Tweeted and shared, or even put on a t-shirt. Think about some of the best ones: "You talkin' to me?"** (ad-libbed) "You're gonna need a bigger boat."**(ad-libbed) "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn." "I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse." "May the Force be with you." "May da Schwartz be wit cha's." "I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!" "I'm king of the world!" "You can't handle the truth!" "I'll be back." "I see dead people." All of those are short, sweet and to the point. And most of all, memorable. Come up with several and test them out on your friends and see which ones stick.

Kerry Douglas Dye

Funny that two of the three you mention were (reportedly) ad-libs by the actor.

Ryan Sasinowski

Haha that's right. Well then, I guess I'll have to name a few others then.

I know what I'm doing, I've seen a lot of movies

Fay Devlin

"You had me at 'Hello'"

Shelley Stuart

Nice idea, but none of these work without the context and/or nuance of the scene or movie behind them. To get to a quotable moment, you have to write a movie worth quoting.

Robert Sprawls

"Pulp Fiction" had so many great quotes, but sadly, so many are not publicly appropriate. Or, they lose their impact when taken in isolation of the scene.
