Hello Guys! First let me start off by saying THANK YOU to anyone who posted a comment on my last topic: ' Getting Into Character' . I really was not expecting so many of you guys to leave replies! lol If you missed it here's the topic link: https://www.stage32.com/lounge/acting/Getting-into-Character Now my question is, how do you market yourself? With so many social media platforms it's easy to put yourself out there, but is there one you really believe can help take your career to the next level? Or do you think it's a collaboration of them all? Do you have a personal website? Facebook fan page? IMDB? Etc… ALSO, do you think one is a complete waste of time/money? I'm looking forward to reading what you all think about this. :) By the way…If you have time I just made a website so I would love to get some of your thoughts on it: http://allyjpayne.wix.com/alexandria I might try it out for awhile then upgrade with my own domain if I like it. What sites do you use for your websites? Good luck on any future auditions, meetings, and projects! Ally
My background is in marketing and I freelance for my regular job. I think there's a lot of misconception about how marketing works for individuals, especially online. It's very difficult, near impossible, for an individual to broadcast outwards. By that I mean there's little one can do in terms of effective personal promotion, especially when we have little to differentiate ourselves. Our marketing tends to be best used in a more supportive capacity. The market actually comes to us and investigates what we have to offer. So what I believe works best is a consistent and comprehensive presence across a range of platforms. What we need to be thinking is if a person finds me on google/linkedin/twitter/stage32 are they going to get the information, or be routed to the information that sells me.
