Hey guys, I thought I'd bring this question to the masses and see the kind of responses I get. Right now I'm currently working on a small youtube web series called 'Mars' (https://www.youtube.com/user/marswebseries), there's four episodes up right now with the fifth ready to go later today. There's zero budget and I don't even have a proper camera yet to film with, but that hasn't stopped me. I felt that the story alone could hold up, I believe in it, and the feedback has been positive so far. But working on it isn't the problem, it's getting noticed. There's thousands upon thousands of people every day that do the very same thing as me, uploading videos and hoping that it takes off. I'm not looking for massive numbers, I'm really just trying to find an audience outside of friends and family to help push it out there and get some kind of notice. So I'm asking you all, fellow stage 32'ers, for some help. Besides the obvious facebook channels, etc (which I'm using as best I can), what other ways can I get my name out there? How can I push Mars out of the realm of obscurity and into something bigger?
Hi Mars - I'm going to move your question over to Promotion and hopefully you'll get a better response. "Ask Stage 32" is more about site questions :)

Hey Mark, you can give yourself more credit for what you already know! Effective PR is first defining your audience, also known as target demographics, then going to media outlets who reach your demo and acquainting yourself with their style of editorial coverage. Then you can start by posting comments, and move on to developing a press release if you think the media outlet has a chance of publishing it. Then it's just a matter of doing what you are doing, keeping your eyes open, and continuing to think things through. Best of luck to you! -- ST
