Screenwriting

What is the purpose of dealing with your writing? To become Dostoyevsky or sell a script?

William Martell

An unsold script is an unheard story. Unlike Dostoyevsky, whose novels were the finished form, a screenplay is nothing until it is made into a film. It is not a finished form at all. The film is the finished form for a screenplay. And Dostoyevsky sold his novels (and articles and stories) to earn a living (which he then gambled away).

So, you have something new to say with your screenplay? The story which has not been told yet?

Jorge J Prieto

Agree: I write stories that I hope can cause negative behavior in many to change that behavior. That those who , bully or hurt, can develop a conscience and realize the permanent scars their actions (my characters) have left on their victims forever. No matter what they try to do latter to remedy the pain they've cause. And there are these FLAT CHARACTER (Ie: Mary tyler Moores character in ORDINARY PEOPLE) who refuse to change her behavior towards the son that lived a boating accident with his other brother, who died and taking with him his mother's WILL to love who least favorite son, who's living with guilt and phychological problems compounded by a mother that can seem TO CONNECT with her least favorite son. So change for some people never comes, no matter the cost to them.

Dostoyevsky all the way.

Of course! This is the point. Tell the audience seriose theme in glittering packaging!

Stacey Stefano

I write to create out the ideas that ferment inside me , then for money .
