Logline: In the late 18th century, a tough mother-of-two who lives off the land in the backwoods of Georgia picks up arms and takes the fight to the British her way. Synopsis: The plot centers on Nancy Morgan Hart. In 1778, she was 35 years-old and lived in the backwoods of Eastern Georgia with her two children, Sudi (13) and Jebodiah (10). Her husband, Benjamin, whom she labels a worthless coward, hasn’t been around in a long time, hence Nancy works hard to feed and defend her family. Meanwhile, the British are moving further south and recruiting Loyalists are an alarming pace. Nancy just wants to live free but she fears the encroachment of the British will make that lifestyle all but impossible. One day, after six English soldiers ride up to her cabin and demand to be fed while sexually harassing Sudi, Nancy essentially declares war on the crown and slaughters every last man. Allying herself with some Indians she trades with, a disgraced Brave she takes in and makes her lover, and several locals who also want to resist the crown, Nancy conducts guerrilla warfare against the Recoats and inflicts serious damage to their plans. Based on a true story.
Oh, it's done-done. It went out today to a couple of places.
Thank you. Yes, Georgia has terrific tax incentives for production with several new sound stages already up and another huge facility in the works. Currently there are 22 projects now filming here and there around the state.
I'll just be happy if I can get a manager.
