The latest trailer for my upcoming short

Entitled "In Too Deep" I love the trailer and I cannot wait to show people this film. I'd love criticism, thoughts, praise, anything to help, I'd appreciate it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SE9Ce1PPUjA

Ami Brown

Are you sure you want to have the "F" word in there so many times in your trailer? I guess it depends on where you will be promoting it. :-) Good job, the film looks interesting.

Alexander Liquori

If it was up to me I wouldn't put the F word in there at all but the director/editor decided too. I was only an actor and camera man during the production

Alexander Liquori

As far as sound goes, clearly we are working with what we have. Don't call it low budget because there was no budget. And we made a trailer to show people who we are before just throwing a short on youtube. However, thank you for the criticism. We're going to build off this short and keep getting better. Oh. Also I sent you a script for a reading over skype and you never got back to me. I don't care if you want to call it terrible and you don't want to waste someone else time reading it, or you just didn't get a chance to look it but I haven't heard anything. I'd appreciate a response on that.

Alexander, people will tolerate a noisy film but never bad audio. As an editor, I get these kinds of audio issues all the time. I use this software from Izotope called Izotope RX. The website address is https://www.izotope.com/en/products/audio-repair/rx. Enjoy

Alexander Liquori

thank you

Omar Brown

You are welcome

Omar Brown

Alexander, one more thing. I know the Izotope RX is expensive. I'd just remembered a software that I used last year for a client conference promotion. I'd use Reaper from www.reaper.fm for audio noise cleanup and post mixing. I used their own RePlug called ReaFIR. Here are the specs: ReaFIR: FFT based dynamics processor Supports FFT sizes of 128-32768 Useful in/out frequency response display Supports defining response curves both using any number of points, or freehand mouse EQ - can be used as a linear phase mastering EQ, or as a super-effective surgical EQ Compressor - can compress at a fixed ratio with a per-band threshold Gate - can gate with per-band threshold Subtract - can build noise profiles and subtract noise from the signal It has a video playback integration. You can load the video in and the audio can be inserted in the arrange window. You can also do all the audio post work that Protool, Sequioa, and Nuendo can do and more. Plus you can render the project out to WebM.

Thank you Omar for everything. And thank you Dan I will be sure to post the full short on here when it's complete

Omar Brown

Alexander, I just wanted to provide a sceenshot of how I used Reaper for an 3D animation and compositing that i did for a B2B Publishing company name Penton Media. Here is the link https://flic.kr/p/ghxwuz

Alexander Liquori

thank you I'll be sure to show this and everything else to my brother, the editor of the short.

Jonathan Lacocque

Alexander, thanks for sharing your trailer with everyone. It's a very vulnerable position to be in and you're handling the criticisms very well. Alle didn't pool any punches lol. She's really right about a lot of her comments. But I hope the main thing you take from this is to keep working at things. It's clear form this video that you and your team are new to the process, and that's absolutely ok! You'll learn more every time you try and create something. There are many issues here, but you've already done something many people haven't - which is make a film - short or not. So kudos there and keep working at it. Keep getting critiques and keep going - your team has a long way to go, but you'll get there. Remember the saying that it takes 10,000 hours to get to mastery of anything.

Alexander Liquori

Thank you for the kind words and constructive criticism. my team and I are fairly new but I also believe we are getting better. Our first attempt at making a short didnt turn out too well. However this time around things seem to be working out. We plan on taking this experience and building on it.

Alexander Liquori

Did you just take pride in leaving 30 people in the freezing cold?... nvm.
