HI Doug, thanks for the request. I'm happy to meet you!
It's called RIDERS ON THE STORM. It's a sci-fi destruction thriller themed round an alien invasion and the er... somewhat unusual resistance deployed by we Earthlings. And the screenplay is one of the quarter-finalists in the New Blood scriptwriting contest. I'm quite pleased about this.
And congratulations to all the other quarter-finalists.
Congrats! I made Quarter Finals, too. May the best script win!
Congrats! I have one in the running, Last Chance Ranch. Anyone know how many submissions they received? It looks like the Quarter-Finals are down to about 140. Best of luck writers!
I am not sure if this should be posted here or the promotion board but I'm too excited to care! Case #13 has just been chosen as an Official Selection at the Carmel International Film Festival and will screen on October 17!
Woot! Congrats Lisa
Thanks everyone! I'll let you know how the screening goes! (I'm not going, but I'll find out about it!)
Congrats, Lisa!!
Happy Anniversary RB! I've only been around for a little bit but I'm loving the creativity that explodes off of my screen every time I log on. Will you be announcing the Quarter Finalist for the Blood List contest during the event? Mazeltov!
Click on the Happy Writers link then the contest link the Blood List, that should get you there.
Doug, the quarterfinalists were just announced!
Paul Smith, Look in your inbox... just got mine a little while ago.
Hi Screenwriters, I can't find the info and dates on the Stage32/Blood List Contest - I think it's been taken off. I submitted back in June and I'm not sure about dates and announcements. Anyone have that info? Doug Goodrich

I have a sketch that will put SNL back on the Map and Set A New Standard For " Black Comedy ". Enough of that Slave Talk and Stereotype Non-Sense ... It's time to Bring Back Universal Comedy. I got just the thing to Blow the Comedy World Away ... How Wants to Help Me Get it to SNL ? ? ?
LOL. Put it back on the map? It's been getting great ratings for 40 years. SNL doesnt look at or buy sketches from outside writers. But "black comedy" isn't really "universal comedy" either.
Work on producing it yourself and getting it up on the web - send it to Funny or Die or just put it out there yourself. Everyone has a unique voice, let us hear yours!
What Doug said. SNL stuff is written in house, but there are people doing skit shows on YouTube who actually make a living at it. At Portland Film Fest last year there was a group of 3 people called TOTALLY SKETCH who have their own YouTube comedy channel... and do that for a living now.
Hey Screenwriters, Anyone tackle writing a manuscript for a work of fiction? Did you find it refreshingly different? What were your struggles? Publish the old fashioned way or self? Doug Goodrich
Hi Micaela, Working on some fun stuff? I love the name of your production company! Who's the second Chix?
Love me some comedy! Right now I'm finishing up another draft of a manuscript. I went to a writers conference in Hurst, TX in May and pitched an agent and she requested it so I'm trying to make it look pretty! Who's your favorite comedic actor or actress?
I don't think I have a fave. What about you?
Bill Murray and Ben Stiller. I like the dry and sarcastic style.

I just finished co-staring in a feature shot by SMU students that was awesome! They had great equipment and I can't wait to see the result. Do you work with a co-writer a lot? Production here in North Texas seems to really be hot right now...very promising.
That's great about the manuscript! Best of luck on that. I've completed one co-written script and I'm currently working on another one with a co-writer in Los Angeles. After this script, I'm hoping on...

After this script, I'm hoping on spending most of my free time producing and directing some of my scripts. McKinney is just ten minutes down the road from me. We should have lunch sometime and talk about projects. I'll send you my email in a personal message.
Sounds good.

In fact, it's my own story, reborn and started screenwiting. Up to now, 3 screenplays completed, non produced (yet). They are seperate stories of a man and of 2 women forming a trilogy about destiny. Hope to continue writing for a long time and progressing always. Never fake, always fun. I'm Chau-Ai, Swiss, born Vietnamese, currently living in Saigon, but soon will move to Hua Hin, a nice, tranquil seaside city South of Bangkok. One poetry book published long time ago in Paris. Awarded with the annual Prix des Poetes Suisses de Langue Francaise and Prix Des Ecrivains Genevois also a long time ago. Will be honored and ready to connect with all of you on Stage32 where, just joined a few days ago, I already feel a very kindly warm atmosphere.
Even more impressive, Chau-ai!
Way to kick Cancer's butt! Keep writing - it's an amazing outlet and will bring you a ton of happiness.
Thanks Dough! I believe so, though I'm cancer free now thanks to will, luck and believe me something else. ;) . Anyway, we continue writing.

I've been performing my whole life, primarily in comedy. I've been doing Improvisational Comedy for over 20 years now, in Dallas and New York. I've been writing my whole life as well but only showing it to people since 2004. I'm about to submit one of my screenplays to the Blood List contest and get even more ensconced into Stage 32, Oh yeah, I just used the word "ensconced". I was just married last November to an amazing woman who has two amazing kids so I can say now, for the first time in my life, I am a father. And I am garnering some amazing experience that I will no doubt be writing about very soon. Life is good. Doug Goodrich
Better late than never, Doug. Welcome to the community. Anyone who uses the word ensconced is OK in my book.

Now I have a shortcut to the best word for all of those others.
