Stephen... I'm going to set my perception straight for you. I haven't been a member here long, however; I have sent multiple things to 'The Happy Writers'. And here's what I've found to be true A/O 12:10 PST... My first pitch experience was horrifying... (With that said), it was not only a self-inflicted wound; but in hindsight, I learned more from it than I'd ever expected. I was out to lunch with my wife and kids, and sent Joey an email stating that I missed the opp. to enroll in a Skype session, but because of whom the opp. was with, he offered me a (phone call). Not only did I take that option, I answered the phone like a child on Christmas morning. Unfortunately, I was not prepared to discuss my story, and was later told what I did poorly, but; was also told what I did correctly. The first impression was, 'oh wow, did I $%#& that up or what?! I took what I learned and jumped right back on that horse. I have since then, pitched multiple times, and have one set up for this Thursday. My overall experience with the Happy Writers is this... The fact that I have the opportunity to speak directly to a professional in the industry, and have the opportunity to pitch my script to them personally, there's no doubt that if the Happy Writers was not an option, I'd be still in my head thinking..."God, if only there was a way that my EXCEPTIONAL MATERIAL could find its way into the hands of those that can take action"..... Lucky for ALL OF US, I'm now still in my head, but saying, "God, if only I can improve on delivering my material in an EXCEPTIONAL DELIVERY". Just my opinion.. and, I shall not leave without pointing out I've used the 'Happy Writers Coverage Service 2 times in two months, and because of that, I'll be using it again next week for my (3rd) script. All of which go to a professional of my choice, and if I can adapt some humility in my life; they might be able to help me improve my chances in becoming a GREAT writer.

The Happy Writers' pitch sessions (both written and Skype) are the easiest way to get your work in front of decision makers -- hands down.

Before you spend the money pitching, try to get someone "more than one person" to either read your pitch, or if you're going to Skype hear it for free. Then practice, practice, practice, until you have no doubt. Then pay for one pitch and wait for the results, so you can practice, practice, practice, again for the next time.

@Rafael, while you've been given sound advice by some industry gurus, I will still attempt to pitch the idea using a well written treatment. At worst, you will hear a bunch of 'Nos'. You will make some interesting discoveries during those attempts that will come in very handy later down the road.

A 1 page treatment?

A one page is a good start. While you're pounding the pavement with it, continue developing the screenplay. Pitch it to EVERYBODY...even your mailman. Use everyone for 'target practice'. You'll get better and better at selling your idea. At some point, the universe will get out of your way and the seemingly 'impossible' will happen. Someone will take it off your hands. Just. Don't. Quit. You should read Stallone's story. :-)
