So I decided to see if you kind folks at Stage32 can help me make a good and wise decision as it relates to software selection. I've seen Final Draft mentioned a lot however it is a bit pricy for someone new to the industry. Celtx seems to be cloud based and I have an aversion to cloud base products especially if I have to pay monthly for them. Trelby I'm a little nervous about since the last update seems to have been done in 2012. WriterDuet seems to be free if I want it to be. Fade in Seems to be reasonably priced. My question is which of these should I take a chance on? Or is there other programs out there that are better suited for a novice screenwriter with a low budget? Oh I have a Windows 7 machine and I'm NOT going to upgrade to 10 :)
Alex, it's just me OCDing. I can't stand ragged lines. Everything needs to be even and square.

Indents from the left margin and ragged-right justification may be leftovers from the typewriter era, but in scripts they are visual equalizers, allowing readers to concentrate and zero in on action and dialog instead of formatting.
I understand, but I wasn't attempting to be reasonable. Ironically no one's complained about my particular justification habit to date.

I'm currently a caregiver for my father who has Alzheimer's/Dementia/Parkinson's and some sort of Kidney issue. I'm in the process (with my business partner) in starting up a Film festival and awards show that will take place in early October. I Sing in church and like to consider myself a pretty good singer I just can't read music :) I'm also working on a script idea for a series so I'm venturing out into a new field here. I look forward to being on here and learning more from all of you in the creative field and to see what the future holds.
Welcome, Mark! Great to have you with us! … Being a caregiver is one of the hardest jobs in the world. It speaks volumes about you as a person, my friend. It's a tremendous sacrifice. I'll be praying for you guys!
Thank you I appreciate it :)

This is a network for you, built by you. Like most things in life, the more you participate, the greater the rewards. We ask all new members to pay it forward by inviting 5 fellow creatives to the network and by spreading the word of Stage 32 through other social media sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. The more creatives, the stronger the network. The stronger the network, the more opportunities.
Thanks for joining the movement and for being a part of this most talented and inspiring community. I very much look forward to your contributions.
Thanks, and have a creative day!
RB
