Jason Mirch, cordial thanks for yet another inspiring and empowering blog post. Indeed, we writers face some pretty fierce competition in the marketplace, which currently seems to prefer to develop scripts instead of taking that crucial leap of faith and putting more scripts into production. Guess this is why more writers are forced and prompted to become directors and producers themselves, to ensure that their work will be seen and heard one day. You can only hope that this type of cautious approach will also lead to better scripts ... and ultimately better movies. I was a Quarter-Finalist in the Stage 32 TV Pilot Contest this year, but fortunately I found Jason Piette of Disrupting Influence through a pitch. Jason and his team have been a true joy to work with. I only started pitching in earnest this February. Sure felt pretty insecure and wet behind the ears at first! However, I've gained more and more confidence in my pitching (while doing my best to keep my ego in check). There have been some really cool encounters with execs, with and to whom I've felt a great affinity / rapport. Always remember that a writer writes. Keep up the stellar work, Stage 32ers!
