Hey I recently joined!

Excited to network here while I try out this weird new (for me) creative writing thing. I want to produce a specific type of film and I can't find the right script out there, so may end up writing it myself. Wish me luck!

My shop partners and I have worked on lots of tv shows, commercials and films plus produced a couple ourselves. Covid slammed our specialty niche and far fewer projects have needed fantastic design and fabrication. 'Lifestyle' commercials and 'slice of life' content has proliferated, especially in our region. It's understandable. But trends will turn eventually and we'll again be seeing crazy costumes plus weird mascots and fantasy concepts. I'm in no big hurry for those per se'.

What I AM hugely psyched about are period costumes. I want to do even more of them now that I'm able to be a LOT more selective about projects I take. I love researching, draping, drafting, cutting and stitching period costumes and have done this professionally for 30 years. Let me know if you're cooking up something fun that needs period costumes and production design:).

I am award-winning Director with over 8 years of directing/producing experience, specializing in computer animation.

I have directed more than 20 hours of television and won an Annie Award for Best Children’s Animated Series and was nominated for an Annie Award for Best Directing in an Animated Series.

In 2008, my team of directors was nominated for an Emmy Award® for Outstanding Directing in an Animated Program. The following year, Back at the Barnyard earned an Emmy Award® for Outstanding Animated Program Special Class.

The prequel to my first feature, a short film titled, Help Me First!, was shot in early spring and premiered with rave reviews at Fantastic Fest 2016. The website for the movie can be found at www.helpmethetmovie.com.

I have been teaching animation online for over 12 years. Most of that time is with Animation Mentor as well as teaching individual animation students around the world. In the spring of 2017, I started teaching at the University of Cincinnati. He’s helped build the animation program as the only teacher, fostering the Certificate of Animation program within the Digital Media Collaborative.

My first feature live action film, Beaten Path, is in the middle of securing financing of $2mm. I hope to shoot the film in the spring of 2021.

Finally, in my spare time, I created a software development company called Filmatick. We secured funding from a major grant, employing 6 people. We work with Final Draft. Our company’s flagship software, a pre-visualization tool for filmmakers, is now available for purchase. www.filmatick.com
