Stephan Barker studied acting at the Method Actors’ Training Centre (2006-2010) in Pretoria, South-Africa. During his studies he partook in several theatre productions, including The Zoo Story by Edward Albee. He has acted in numerous short films ranging from student shorts to independent short films. In 2010 Stephan was seen on 7de Laan (a popular South-African soap) for a couple of episodes. 2010 was also the year in which he took part in the 48Hour Film Project. Their team created the short film called Wrong Call in just 48hours. The team went on to win awards for Best Producer and Most Hype, and the film was nominated for Best Visual Effect. He had a cameo appearance in a feature film called 48, which was directed by Bonginhlanhla Ncube in 2011. 2012 provided another opportunity to showcase his skills in another South-African soap, Binnelanders. He also tried his hand at writing and along with Janri Myburgh wrote a play which was performed by them in theatres in both Pretoria and Johannesburg.
