Tawan Bazemore is a Writer, Director, Cinematographer, and Colorist from Paterson & South Orange, New Jersey; who currently resides in Los Angeles, California with his wife, actress/author Crystal Porter Bazemore. His love for 19th-century paintings, opera, foreign language, and classic films came at an early age and have shaped his unorthodox approach to telling stories. For more than 18 years Tawan has accrued over 250 credits as a professional Colorist. He has worked for HBO, Maybelline NY, Relativity Media, Stylehaul, Foodbeast, Ford, and JC Decaux. Being a Colorist has been instrumental in further shaping his cinematic style as a director, in the form of the color story and frame-composition. He directed several short films, one of which screened at Cannes in 2008. In 2014 Bazemore was hired to direct the feature film “Hibiscus”.
