About Vanessa

I'm a passionate filmmaker fom San Antonio, TX. I love all genres, but my films tend to fall in the Horror, Sci-fi, Dark Comedy, or Psychological Thriller genres, heavily influenced by the films of the 70s, 80s, and 90s. My love for practical effects led me to my hobby, special effects makeup. I've also worked in the makeup department of several Texas-based short films. Before life as a filmmaker, I worked professionally as an Information Security Consultant. In 2011 I completed a certificate program from the University of Notre Dame, and later the same year earned the IT certification, CISSP. Prior to that, I spent over ten years in the U.S. Air Force working in Computers and Communications. In 2012 I enrolled in the Digital Filmmaking and Video Production program at the Art Institute of San Antonio, and attended until December 2015. My love of film, and passion for filmmaking has propelled this newly emerging career in the industry.

Anything is possible in film. Everyday new universes are born and shared with the world through the collaboration and hard work of creatives. The art of storytelling has been around since the days of ancient peoples. We are a culture that loves to tell stories, and I am no different. I enjoy telling stories as much as I enjoy reading, hearing, and watching them.
