When getting a new project off the ground you often hear about the importance of attaching top talent.

There are a number of reasons the industry says you need to get recognizable talent attached to your project - it will help secure financing, land a pre-sale deal before you start filming, help stir up interest in your project from other cast and crew in the industry, and generally make your project more marketable and desirable across the board. While these are all true, it doesn't change the fact that it feels nearly impossible for a first time filmmaker to get a recognizable actor, writer, director, or producer to come on board your project. Most filmmakers early in their careers struggle with even conceptualizing the process to get top talent.

How do you get the agent or manager to pay attention? How can you sound professional and knowledgeable so the talent and their reps take you seriously? If you are able to reach the actor and their team, how can you increase your chances of getting an official attachment? Filmmakers constantly grapple with these questions and, unfortunately, often make the wrong choices in going about this process. Many filmmakers waste money on offers to talent who are known but do not have any value in the current film market, or, conversely, make offers to marketable talent that are much too low and won't get the agent's attention.

Luckily, this exclusive Stage 32 on-demand webinar will equip you with all the tools you need to appropriately approach top talent with the confidence and know-how to get an attachment! Teaching you the art and science of how to attach top talent is Bradley Gallo, the President and Co-Founder of Amasia Entertainment. If there is anyone in the industry that knows how to attach A-list talent to independent films it's Bradley. He has worked with some of the top A-list talent on his independent films including Oscar-winners Olivia Coleman, Halle Berry & Christopher Walken, Oscar-nominee Anna Kendrick, Jon Hamm, Jamie Dornan and many more. Bradley will pull back the curtain on the process and share tips & tricks on everything you need to consider to set yourself - and your project - up for success by getting top talent on board!

Whether you are planning to make your movie now or plan to make a movie in the future, Bradley will provide you with the framework to know when is the right time to attach talent, how to evaluate which talent actually has value, how large (or small) your offers should be, and so much more!

PLUS! You will receive a SAMPLE OFFER LETTER that you can use when approaching talent on your next project!

Stage 32 State of the Industry: Special Hispanic Heritage Month Panel & Conversation

For Hispanic Heritage Month (or Latinx Heritage Month), it's important to reflect on the contributions made by the Latinx community, consider the progress made and the work that still needs to be done to empower and raise up Latinx voices. This is especially true for the film and TV industry. Incredible work has been done in front of and behind the camera recently that showcases Latinx talent and culture, including films like COCO, ROMA and IN THE HEIGHTS and shows like VIDA, ON MY BLOCK, and more. And as the industry strives for more inclusiveness and equity, this is the time for more Latinx talent to share their voices and their stories around the world. But more than just celebrating accomplishments, it's important we take stock of where we are today. To continue creating change in the industry, we must review what representation exists and what is lacking, what is being made and watched, both in America and in Spanish-speaking countries, and how Latinx creatives can best find their foot in the door. Therefore, in honor of Latinx Heritage Month, Stage 32 has partnered with some of the industry's top leaders from both the U.S. and Latin markets who are dedicated to elevating the voices of the next generation of Latinos in entertainment. Together, we will be hosting a FREE no-holds-barred panel and discussion where our experts will discuss trends in the Spanish-speaking market, opportunities for bilingual content, language barriers in the U.S. and how to overcome them, and how to shorten your path to success.Plus we'll have an exclusive Q&A where YOU will have the opportunity to ask any questions you'd like. We'll see you there!   Panelists Diego Cantu, Emmy Award Winning Screenwriter and Producer Guillermo Olivo, Director and Documentarian David Zannoni, International Business Specialist, Fintage House

How To Hook Your Reader In The First 5 Pages

Learn what executives look for in the first five pages of your script from a producer whose worked with HBO, Universal, Fox, CBS and more!   The first five pages of your script are perhaps the most important of your entire story. Those initial pages must hook your reader from the very first word and entice them to follow you into the world your story has created. No matter the genre, those first five pages are key.  Whether you’re submitting your script to a screenwriting contest, a manager, an agent, a producer, or director, your job as a writer it to craft those pages in such a way that the reader is compelled to keep reading.  Whether you are writing your first script or your fiftieth, learning to make those first five pages sing is a critical skill. Your instructor teaching you how to make your first 5 pages really pop is Regina Lee. Regina is a film and TV series producer and former studio executive who has worked with writers and talent of all levels to get their projects sold to studios and networks like HBO, FOX, BET, Lifetime, Starz, Universal Pictures, The CW, CBS and more. She began her executive career at Universal Pictures, where she was the primary executive in charge of movies like X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE, THE FAST & THE FURIOUS 3, THE GOOD SHEPHERD, AMERICAN WEDDING, SEABISCUIT and more. Regina has a deep and accomplished history of elevating projects and helping writer's find success; because she's been both a producer and a studio executive, she understands what it takes for scripts to break through. Over the course of three jam-packed on-demand sessions, Regina goes in depth on what NEEDS to happen in your script’s first five pages, what executives are looking for, the typical paradigms for a script’s opening, and how you can give executives what they want to see. You will leave this class with a solid understanding of how to get your reader hooked in only 5 pages or less! Purchasing gives you access to the previously-recorded live class. Although Regina is no longer reviewing the assignments, we still encourage all listeners to participate. Praise for Regina’s Stage 32 Class "Regina offers great insight. This class instantly made me a better writer.” -- David L. "Thanks for a wonderful class! Your efforts have been amazing." --Heather F. "Great class, very helpful and useful information."  --John R.
