Working with his oldest friend and writing/producing partner Darren Swimmer, Todd has working in all different kinds of genres and has been involved with many popular television shows, including SMALLVILLE, SHADOWHUNTERS and most recently THE MYSTERIOUS BENEDICT SOCIETY, for which he was nominated for two Emmys; Best Writing for a Children and Family series, and Best Children and Family series. He has written pilots for ABC, NBC, FOX and The CW, where he developed and was the showrunner of MELROSE PLACE 2.0. Other television credits include NO ORDINARY FAMILY, ALPHAS, DEFIANCE, DOMINION and GUILT. Q: How do I watch my webinar live?
A: If you received a confirmation that your webinar is on Go to Webinar, you will receive an email from Go to Webinar with further instructions for participating in the live webinar. Q: What is the format of a webinar?
A: Stage 32 Next Level Webinars are typically 90-minute educational broadcasts that take place online using a designated software program from Stage 32. Your webinar will be taught by a working industry professional with in-depth teaching on a topic. If you are able to attend live you will be able to ask your Stage 32 Educator questions during Q&A.

Q: What are the system requirements to watch my webinar live?
A: You will need to meet the following system requirements in order to run the webinar software: Windows 7 or later Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) or later.

If you have Windows XP, Windows Vista and Mac OS X 10.9 (Mountain Lion): The webinar software does not support these operating systems. Q: What if I cannot attend the live webinar?

Q: How do I get a copy of the handouts provided?

The Executive Hour with Special Guest Emmy-nominated Screenwriter Vijal Patel

In the final Executive Hour of 2020, the Writers' Room members welcome Emmy-nominated and Peabody Award-winning writer Vijal Patel who has written for comedy series including ABC’s BLACK-ISH, THE MIDDLE, and currently is the Co-EP on SCHOOLED with Tim Meadows. He also writes and develops feature film projects for DreamWorks and has a development deal with Sony Pictures Television. Vijal has built his career on writing comedy and using it to explore race, family, religion, politics, and class struggle. During this webcast, we discuss how Vijal entered the industry without going to film school, how he landed his first agent and manager, his thoughts on writing compelling dialogue, characters, and comedy, along with a lot more! The Executive Hour with Special Guest Playwright Eduardo Machado

This week we welcome playwright and TV writer who is the author of over forty plays!  His television credits include Executive Story Editor on Season 2 of the Starz drama "MAGIC CITY", and serving as Executive Story Editor on two seasons of the HBO television show "HUNG".  He wrote and directed the film EXILES IN New York, which played at the A.F.I Film Festival, South by South West, The Santa Barbara Film Festival and The Latin American International Film Festival in Havana, Cuba. He has also has sold his original television projects to Starz, Amazon and AMC, among others. During this incredible Executive Hour, Eduardo talks about working with Oscar-winner Al Pacino on the film SCARFACE in his early 20's, how to write compelling characters for stage and screen, what it is like being in a writers room for HBO, and offers a exercise in breaking character and story that brought one of our members to tears!

He is the co-author of the "Haggis-on-Whey" faux-informational children's book series optioned by the Montecito Picture Company and adapted for Paramount Pictures.
