A quick piece of housekeeping before we get to today's guest blogger. Stage 32 was recently named Script Magazine's Site of the Week. My thanks goes out to the entire staff. We're honored and grateful.

One of the most consistent pieces of feedback that I’ve received from people in the indie entertainment community over the last year is “You really should join Stage 32.” In accepting this advice, I’m proud to say that I was introduced to a set of tools and resources that was not just a simple extension of my social media strategy.

Stage 32 is an astutely crafted ecosystem in and of itself. It combines the business savvy elements of LinkedIn, the social networking capabilities of Facebook and the concise, rapid-fire appeal of Twitter. The best part is that it’s all designed to serve the needs of us “creative types”.

When publicist (and fellow Stage 32 member) Lynette Carrington approached me about the possibility of interviewing Stage 32’s CEO and co-founder Richard Botto on my podcast (The Cutting Room Floor), I of course jumped at the opportunity. “RB” spoke candidly about why he started the site, shared some success stories, and even offered some invaluable tips to those trying to get their projects off the ground through Crowdfunding. I’ve recorded over 200 episodes and several of my most loyal listeners are calling it one of the best shows that I’ve done thus far. I hope that you enjoy it.
