The American Pavilion Announces Programming at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival

Acclaimed actors, filmmakers, movie executives, and journalists will be among those featured during the upcoming “Industry In Focus” Series and “In Conversation” programming at The American Pavilion at the 2016 Cannes International Film Festival, it was announced by Julie Sisk, Founder and Director of The American Pavilion.

The American Pavilion’s discussions and one-on-one in conversations take place in the Roger Ebert Conference Center and are open to all AmPav members. Programming includes executives from Participant Media and the Casting Society Of America with moderators from The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, and Indiewire among others.

Exciting panels include filmmakers and stars of films Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds, LOVING, ONE WEEK AND A DAY, MEAN DREAMS and many more.

Additional diverse topics being covered in the Series include: VR and Storytelling, Women In Film, The Music Of Cannes, The State Of Documentary Film, American Producers In Cannes, Short Film Financing, and Value, Talent, And The International Cast.

Queer Night, which has become the biggest and only gay dance party event tied to the Festival, will take place on Sunday, May 15 beginning at 10:00pm and entry is gratis to all Festival badge holders.

Sydney Levine is an executive of longstanding in the international film business. She is a writer of the popular blog on international film business, SydneysBuzz which also has run on Indiewire, IMDbPro and IMDb since 2008 when Amazon acquired her twenty-five year old company FilmFinders. In 1988 Sydney created FilmFinders, the industry’s first database of worldwide features used by distributors, sales agents and festival programmers acquiring features. It became industry standard for organizing and tracking the rights-buying activities of the film business and was adopted by the Cannes Marché and developed into what today is called Cinando.com.
