Good morning, Stage 32 Creative Crew! It’s a brand new week and we are excited to kick it off with some huge news! We are excited to announce that author and screenwriter Greg Mania has officially signed with Cohn/Torgan Management for literary representation!

As you probably remember, Greg was the winner of our 4th Annual Comedy Writing Contest with his original pilot, “Mania”. As part of his winning the contest, in October, Stage 32 sent Greg on about a dozen meetings with literary managers, television producers, and development executives. It was during one of these meetings that Greg met with Literary Manager Jon Taub who works with Literary Manager & Partner Laina Cohn of Cohn/Torgan Management.

The first time Greg and Jon met, they instantly hit it off and spoke for over 2 hours! Later, during the same week, Greg met with Laina Cohn who also loved Greg’s talent, energy, and dedication to the craft.

It was during that meeting that Greg discussed his memoir, Born to be Public, which Jon and Laina both sparked to instantly. Since that meeting, Greg has completed Born to be Public, which has been pre-released by Clash Books (get your signed copy here!) and begins shipping Summer of 2020!

Laina Cohn is a prolific talent and literary manager who represents clients across film and television, including Alita: Battle Angel, Bad Moms, The Good Lie, and series for ABC, Fox, Netflix, USA, Disney Channel, and more. Leonard Torgan, her partner at the company, produced the hit series “In Treatment” for HBO and also represents clients across features and television.

The entire Stage 32 team is so excited for Greg! Stage 32 opened up the door for Greg and he capitalized on the opportunity in a BIG way! It is exactly the way in which we love to support our members and their career ambitions. We’re excited for this next chapter in Greg’s life and look forward to supporting his creative goals, just as we support the creative endeavors of all our hard working members.

Please join me in wishing Greg, Jon, and Laina congratulations and best of luck in their future collaborations together! We look forward to big things coming from this amazing team!
