Here is a commercial created without actors, this is in the SAGAFTRA, IATSE, and Teamsters contracts. AI objects are considered. READ.YOUR.CONTRACT.CAREFULLY. Get an entertainment lawyer. This will mostly affect extras I imagine. No need to hire actual people. Therefore, no need for crew either.

Great advice, Suzanne Bronson! The AI commercial looks terrible and so weird in my opinion. I'm against AI in art, so I won't be shopping at Toys R Us, but even if I wasn't against AI in art, the commercial would make me not wanna shop there.

Totally agree with you Suzanne! I do have to say that the ad has excellent production value though, to me, the actors still look animated --or IA generated.

It's a horrible ad and the backlash has been fierce. One thing we're forgetting here, in all art, people want to see themselves reflected in the subject at hand. They want a connection. You're not getting that from creepy AI "actors".

I agree Richard BUT :) the connection to people in this ad comes from the copy/VO and the story that is being narrated about George's dream coming true AND living on.. Granted it's not a strong connection but a connection none the less. The AI is just accompaniment. Definitely not a strong spot for emotional connection through its AI characters on screen. So, I agree with you --I'm just drawing out some of the positives.

Hmm, that's interesting. Richard "RB" Botto I don't know that I would have been able to tell that child was AI generated if I had not been told that before I watched the commercial. I could tell everything else was. I thought the VO could be human but may be it isn't either. It's disturbing. Coincidentally, I just started reading William Gibson's Agency.

Great point about people wanting to feel connected Richard "RB" Botto I think that is why AI won't be able to replace actors or writers, they can't generate emotions. AI is a sociopath.

That's wild, Suzanne Bronson. Seemed obvious right away to me. Very mechanical and unnatural IMO. And I agree on the emotions/human connection front.

Same here Richard "RB" Botto and with Disney and others spending millions on purchasing Ai companies is very telling as well.
