I plan on moving to LA from Houston in a few months and wanted to know if anyone knows of any good safe areas/apartments to live in. Looking for something no more than $1200 a month preferably a one bedroom one bath.

On your budget I think you should live in the valley - Van Nuys or somewhere like that. I've lived in different parts of L.A., and the coolest area to live I think is Hollywood and WeHo north of Santa Monica west of Vermont but those are both too expensive I think to find a place at $1200. THere are others here in L.A. who can offer suggestions.
