Hi there my dear animators,
I attended the Stage 32 UK/Europe Writer’s Meeting Last Night, for my synopsis read for my animated series. It was a blast - you should be there for the next one!
One of the questions raised by Ashley Smith, was whether there is a template/format for animated projects?
I am using Final Draft 12 and have been through the templates and can’t see one. I’m currently using the Screenplay template (and not the TV series option), as there is no need for five acts in a 22 minute episode. What do you use?
Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,
Geoff
Hi, Geoff Hall. I use the same template in Final Draft 12 that I use for live-action scripts.

Maurice Vaughan me too, but then I wondered if animation writers adapted some of the Element, to suit their animated projects?
I just remembered, Geoff Hall. I wrote an animated pilot for a 30-minute series in Finat Draft 12. I think I used the TV template and five acts.

Wow, Maurice Vaughan how did you work five acts into a 30 minute episode?
I found an article online about writing a 30-minute pilot, Geoff Hall.
Maurice Vaughan me too, Maurice. Thanks for checking in. I used the same template, but dropped the ‘Acts’ element.
