How Would You Score?

Who Wants To Play?

Here we go: If a whole movie was based solely on a song you wrote to go with this image, what would the song be like? Would there be lyrics? What would the title be? What would be the major themes? Why?

I had Strep followed by moving my actress daughter cross-country to be nearer her gigs, so I've been gone for while and now I want to just rest and have some fun with my friends here. Let's see how creative we can be and get those creative juices flowing!

I'll start: TITLE: Too Empty Chair. The style would be bluegrass and the major themes would harken back to listening to songs on a scratchy radio like The Carters. (Set in the Great Depression.) Chorus: When mama passed from here to hereafter, her babies all would cry. All they wanted was her love, a hand to dry their eyes. But every Sunday morning, before the church bells ring, those cherub faces turn to that empty chair, they stand and sweetly sing.

My full feature SETESH on youtube is based on the 4 notes in Beethoven's opus 135- must it be?

Ooooooo, I see a slow zoom in toward the fireplace. The music is dark, low strings and muted brass in minor key. The flames start to morph into crimson and liquify, while high string clusters reminiscent of Penderecki scream louder and louder. The flames are now a huge torrent of blood, flooding into the sitting room. The torrent of blood is like a dam breaking. The armchairs are swept up in the deluge, as the camera is immersed in blood, the scene ends.

Ok, I admit it, I watched The Shining once too often as a kid.

First , welcome back! That sounds like an incredibly exhausting stretch—recovering from strep and doing a cross-country move is massive. I’m so glad you’re back and, as you said, ready to rest and have some fun. You’ve definitely earned it!

I love this game, and that image is pure atmosphere. Here’s my take:

Song Title: "Finally Home"

The Core Concept / Themes: I was really struck by the story you shared. The song (and the movie) wouldn't just be set in this room; this room would be the destination.

The song’s verses would be about the "noise," the "cold," and the "long-haul" – reflecting the chaotic journey you just described (the illness, the stress, the endless highway). The lyrics would capture that feeling of being worn down and just needing a place to stop.

Then, the chorus would be the moment of arrival. It would be the music that swells as the character (you!) finally drops their bags, lights the fire, and sinks into that chair.

Themes: The major themes would be Sanctuary, Resolution, and Healing.

Why: Because the feeling in that image isn't just "cozy"; it's the feeling of safety after chaos. The movie is the storm; the song is the sound of the storm finally passing.

A wonderful game! I hope you're getting all the peace and warmth that this picture radiates.
