Composing : Summer competition - from Sonokinitics by Kerry Kennard

Summer competition - from Sonokinitics

There was a composer competition from Sonokinitics and heard about it from Michael Whittaker's ScoreCraft Academy. I used one of their Music Libraries, - bought one of them called IBRIDO. I thought the sounds matched for this type of scene.

It's the weird sound in the middle, as well as near the end.

There's some good parts to this short scary scene.

( I didn't win, though always a learning curve in any industry - esp. this one ! )

Having the right tools - libraries and always learning more about music theory - which I had from UnderGrad to Master's degrees. Writing to film requires more out of the box and having your own sound, I'm learning. We all have our own style.

Def. had a few film producer friends watch / listen to it; those Bird sounds were too loud, (lol. - I def. brought them down). I used a MOOG delay to work around one of them at the end. - It's out of there - lol. !!

the rest of sounds are from Apple's Library and I added a real kick (bass) drum during second half and a

Talking Drum, adding more realism to the scene. I've learned to use more real instruments when possible within some scores / film music projects.

Maurice Vaughan

Excellent job on the score, Kerry Kennard! I really like it! "It's the weird sound in the middle, as well as near the end." That's my favorite sound in the score.

Thanks Maurice Vaughan !! appreciate it. It's the IBRIDO from Sonokinitics.

They have a big library of different kind of sounds !! - for different type of genres to write in.

Here's their main page:

Well, not good enough to win yet, Maurice. I think a few others had more orchestration in some parts. This one does work well for an Indie project - still yes, ... thank you.

The Grand prize was all the Sonokinetic sounds !! plus time with Michael !!

You're welcome, Kerry Kennard. Thanks for the link!
