Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday break. Besides doing storyboards and concept art, I also record/write music for film. When I do music production work, I use a Danelectro bass to work with drum loops. I still play guitar, but decided to branch out into bass, a few years ago. It has a great deep sound, and keep the treble on to get chunky, deep sound with the pick. Alternate picking if needed. I recommend musicians getting into music production and highly recommend writing your own material. Guess that’s about it for now. Happy holidays, everyone and all the best in 2025.
Happy Holidays, Rich Terdoslavich! Hope you're enjoying your holiday break too. Do the picks make different sounds?

Hi, Maurice! Same here. There is a difference between using flatpicks and fingers. Difference in tone, approach, sound, phrasing etc. It’s also up to how you approach playing any instrument. You create your own sound. Also, practice and write. Rehearse, always keep your chops up. Listen to lots of music, styles, learn different styles and create your own.

Thanks, Maurice and Arthur.
You're welcome, Rich Terdoslavich. Ok, gotcha. That's pretty cool. Who's your favorite guitarist?

So many. A lot to list. Can’t pick one. At the moment, been listening to post punk stuff. I am a fan of the Beatles and thought George played some great solos and licks. McCartney is an incredible bassist, great melodic lines and Lennon played some great parts too.
Cool, Rich Terdoslavich. I don't know a lot of guitarists by name, but Aerosmith is my favorite rock band.

Hi, Maurice and happy new year! Great band. Joe Perry and Brad Whitford play some great licks. Been listening to post punk, The Psychedelic Furs and Siouxsie and The Banshees.

Happy New Year, Rich Terdoslavich! Aerosmith's music is so unique to me. I had the Aerosmith video game growing up. I haven't heard of those bands. I'll check them out.

Rich Terdoslavich I guess you could say forever. I started playing gigs at 12/13 years old and did it most of my life. I’ve only been a musician through life. Jeez, you’d think I’d be better by now. :). I was always one who’d offer up intros, outros, transitions, alternate chords, etc. I didn’t start getting work writing arrangements for more pro level clients or folks you hear about until around 2010 or so. It’s always a treat when it’s for a larger ensemble. I don’t get the opportunity that often.
