I need help. I have so many projects and I love writing and developing but I'm a little lost on the next step. I have a series with everything from scripts to business plan to drawings to summaries to everything! I can pitch to the best of them but I don't have a demo or whatever else I need. These rights release forms scare me to death. Anyone out there with some good advice on how to get this made would be very welcomed!!
You need an executive summary and a onesheet for each of your scripts to get financing
Saundra - we have several webinars that would be of interest for you on this: https://www.stage32.com/webinars
Jeff, Hi! Yes, I've already registered with the WGA and everything's already been copyrighted. It's funny because I was just thinking about finding representation right before I read your message. I will start looking asap. Thanks for your advice!!
I'll start the search this evening and I'll send you what interests I get. I'm prepared to grovel or do whatever it takes. I remember how grueling it was. I used to be with an agency but modeling not entertainment but it was still tough. It taught me how to have thick skin. Thanks for your help.
I'm new to this site and I can't seem to locate the agents on here. Is there a tab or a special search?
Uphill battle. The key to getting anything done in television these days is getting a "name" showrunner attached. How do you get a name showrunner? Therein lies the rub. You'll have to lock down representation for yourself and your material first. Follow the advice you've already been given and seek an agent or manager. You're going to get a lot of "no," replies, but as I've stated in other Lounge rooms, each "no" gets you closer to "yes." You didn't specify whether you're a writer, writer/producer or writer/director. If you're on a producer track, you could go about raising funds to produce the pilot and use the completed pilot as your sales pitch. Whichever way you decided to go, I wish you the best!
