Casting Call Help

Hello lounge! I'm currently trying to finish my rough draft for a short film of mine called "The Bus Stop." That is to hopefully be filmed in January, and I want to do a casting call! I've tried to do my own research, but I wanted it to be online for the people in my city, as I don't think I'm big enough yet to have outside people. Are there any websites, or is Google Forms a good way to do a casting call?

You could make a post on Stage 32’s Job Board, Gale Grande. www.stage32.com/find-jobs

Gale, you're in San Antone, so you can post on Craigslist, and there's also several film groups on FB in SA: San Antonio Filmmakers, San Antonio Filmmakers Forum, Alamo Film Group, San Antonio Film. I'll send you a network request.

Good luck with your short film!

Douglas Esper

good luck with the casting and filming. Facebook is a great resource to find actors/film maker groups in your area. also, depending on ages of characters you can check out local colleges and acting school or theaters.

Gale, best of luck with "The Bus Stop"! January will be here before you know it. For online casting in San Antonio, try Backstage and Actors Access—they're great for finding local talent who are actively looking for projects.

Use backstage.com on there, you will have much success with locating talent specifically in your area and submissions come in quickly. I wish you the best.

cheers!

Find your local film and theater Facebook groups and post there.

If you are a beginner then go to canva and search for casting call design, customize it with your requirement like required actor details including height, colour, age. provide your contact number, email. Ask for a audition clip to send via mail.

Post in different social media platforms, shared it with friends so that they can also share it with their groups. eventually you will able to get calls and mails. Meet them personally according to satisfaction. Then you can finalize

Backstage and local Facebook groups are great starting points! Also check out Actors Access. Wishing you all the best with your short film!

Gale Grande The Casting Network, Breakdown Services "Actors Access" - I personally wouldn't use Backstage because they try to will charge you (as well as the actors) and they are very low results now, compared to what they were back in the day.
