As a presidential scholar who couldn't finish film school, I sometimes find nomenclature problematic surrounding media ventures. I heard that the message is in the media. Admittedly, I launched a number of applications that feature my own work. However, the media/film/whatever network around us doesn't provide many opportunities. Why is it that, without seeking nosey representation, young filmmakers find it hard to turn a profit?

David Rozzell Filmmaking is not a job, it's an entrepreneurial business. Most people in most any industry don't have the broad skills or special mindset to be successful as entrepreneurs. Film and entertainment media, with its crossover into the artistic as well as business as well as legal, is even more challenging. All of which is to say, you have to figure it out.
